Ten hard Questions by a Skeptic. #9
Welcome to my blog post entitled "Unveiling the Zeitgeist". Recently, I had the privilege to answer 10 questions from a friend about the nature of God and spirituality in general. I am sharing the ten-part Q&A with my friend's permission. I have titled this very first series "Ten hard questions by a Sceptic". I hope that this blog post series helps all the skeptics out there that wrestle with the existence of God in their minds and in their hearts. Friends, It's time to leave the fence!

God seeks a personal relationship with men. He doesn’t run a robotic workshop where praise and worship of God happen with a mouse click in the absence of freedom of the ones being controlled.
#9. If God truly exists, why is there so much suffering in this world?
One of the classic questions and no pun intended here but it does come up often in Christian apologetics. There are tons of suffering yes but is that the full story? Is not suffering contributed to men rather than God? The way I reason with this is that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent but if God had a restriction or even a limitation it would have to be the “free will” attribute God gave to his special creations, men. Within the confinement of the relationship between God and man, God saw the importance to design men with free will. Why? Because without free will, God would only be reduced to a taskmaster but with free will men had a choice to elevate God voluntarily to His rightful position as Deity Supreme Deluxe! Therefore, we can say that honoring God for who He is is interlinked with free will.
God seeks a personal relationship with men. He doesn’t run a robotic workshop where praise and worship of God happen with a mouse click in the absence of freedom of the ones being controlled.
So with free will, God allows us to commit suicide, ignite a bomb and commit genocide. He does not impose His power on his people, but may gently steer the hearts of the people to accomplish His purposes. To those God loves, He shelters them or gives them perseverance in the midst of suffering in the world that is the promise believers have in life - mind you that the Satan is working overtime to make sure he creates suffering in this world and the media is doing its part that “viewership” is consistently fed with negativity.
Despite all the evil going on in this world, we can be assured that it’s all in God’s good hands and He will accomplish his purposes; according to Romans 8:28, “we know that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
