#3 How to distinguish the voice of God?

Still, God expects us to use all of our God given tools in our arsenal to make a wise decision that brings glory to God. This includes putting on our thinking caps and to use our experience and talents.

Welcome to my blog post entitled "Unveiling the Zeitgeist". This new 10-part series reveals the secrete of “Hearing God’s Voice in the Workplace”. People spend an average of 90,000 hours (or a third) of their life working. Given that we sleep an average of 229,961 hours during our lifetime, the workplace takes a significant part of our life. In a modern, fast-paced, time-consuming, and technologically driven lifestyle, does God still speaks to His people, or has He become irrelevant and silent? The answer is that God always speaks! Matter of fact, God has never stopped speaking to His people since the foundation of the world has formed. Hearing God’s voice is not only enriching and meaningful to steer our life, but it is also an overlooked and unexplored secret accessible to everyone. So, let’s explore together!

#3 How to distinguish the voice of God?

There are many thoughts on any given day that we deal with. With a clear discernment of knowing the source, we have to categorize our thought life into 3 main sources. Here is the breakdown of the three types of voices, thoughts, or prompting that we are faced is the following.

  1. We often hear our own thoughts that are triggered by our soul which consists of emotions and will for example. Given the nature of the struggle between fleshly sin and soulish sin, we are pulled between the two resulting in double-mindednesses. Our wants and desires are often indicators that certain parts of our lives which not been surrendered yet to God. Still, God expects us to use all of our God-given tools in our arsenal to make a wise decision that brings glory to God. This includes putting on our thinking caps and to use our experience and talents.

  2. Thoughts that are implanted into our minds by Satan or his underlings. This can include doubts, fear, worries, and anxieties, envy, anger, and covetousness, condemnation, contempt, deception, and lies. More often, the enemy can plant a thought in our lives when our inner man is wounded (trauma and brokenness) or we are under the influence of demonic entities that require deliverance. The enemy tries to devour us constantly (insert verse) and his attacks are like flaming arrows that are in midair. Leaving us blindsided when flaming arrows will rain on the believer. Circular arguments, overly rationalizing an issue and the lack of peace in the process with the possible outcome all are possible indicators of the enemy’s work in our thought life.

  3. Holy Spirit speaks through various situations. Blackaby in "Experiencing God" puts it this way. "God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways." God has some things He wants to share with you, but are you listening and obeying?

Let's pray together! Father God, we are under a constant barrage of thoughts, and discerning them has become a huge challenge. Help us to renew our minds and be familiar with your voice and reject the lies from our enemy. Help me to recognize the small still voice of the Holy Spirit and use my intellect to make rational decisions. In Jesus' name, I pray.

Why Unveiling the Zeitgeist?

Aaron_104469.jpg

Many years ago, I had a vivid dream where God spoke these words to me “Awaken My Remnant”. Since then, I waited patiently to do just that. Not knowing whom to awaken, I waited on God’s next instructions. Then I wrote my first book, “Pursued By The Maker” which was published by Highbridge Publication and sold worldwide. To this day, I pray for the remnant and their awakening, and I continue to write and share my thoughts in a blog post series entitled "Unveiling the Zeitgeist".
